The intelligence layer.

Six jobs a researcher or consultant does by hand today, done inside the CRM and written to the record. Nothing leaves the building until you say so.

The CRM it works on. Built for a retained search.

Candidates, clients, funds and mandates, in the language your market uses. The stages are the stages of a search. The layer works on this, so everything it does lands on the right record.

  • Candidates, clients, funds and mandates as first-class records
  • Off limits, confidentiality and retention built in, not bolted on
  • Your inbox and diary connected, so the record keeps itself
  • Your data held in the UK and never used to train anything
  • Brief, longlist, shortlist, interviews, offer: the stages of a search
  • Your records moved across from the system you use today

A live mandate on the board. Fictional firm, fictional people.

Market map

Knows the market and who is in it. Hiring trends, who is moving where, which funds and strategies are doing well, plus the people already in your CRM who would suit a new mandate..

Most firms have years of candidates in their database and no quick way to search them properly. Vateri reads every record, every note and every CV you hold, then the public web and the licensed data your firm subscribes to. When a mandate lands it ranks the people who fit, strongest first, with the reason each one fits and when you last spoke, then removes anyone off limits. It also watches the funds you care about: filings, moves, postings. When a candidate becomes movable or a client starts building a team, you hear first. Nothing is scraped.

What it takes off the desk

  • Searching old spreadsheets
  • Longlists built by hand
  • Hearing about a move too late

Outreach

Writes to each candidate as if you had. Outreach to pre-qualified candidates, personalised properly: the right first name, the right role, the right firm, the detail that shows you did your homework.

You agree a template with the client, or write your own. Vateri fills it for each person on the list: first name, the bank they are at, the sector they cover, the detail that shows you did your homework. Every draft waits for your approval, then goes from your inbox in your name. If there is no reply, the follow-up goes when you said it should, then stops the moment someone answers.

What it takes off the desk

  • Copying and pasting the same email
  • Forgetting to chase
  • Outreach that reads like a mail merge

To A. KowalskiSubject A new sleeve at a leading macro fund

Anna, I run the buy-side desk at Meridian. A PM at one of the larger macro funds is building a new consumer sleeve and wants an analyst who has covered staples inside a bulge bracket, which I understand you have done at Morgan Stanley for the last three years. If twenty minutes this week would be useful, I would rather you heard it from me than read about it later.

Vateri · Outreach
Two drafts ready, each from the template Aldgate approved. Nothing goes until you say so. Follow-ups are set for Thursday for anyone who has not replied.

Scheduling

Books the interviews. The client picks a candidate and a time in the portal.

Interviews get agreed over nine emails because three diaries never line up. The client marks the candidate they want to meet and when they are free in the portal. Vateri emails the candidate with real times, confirms the one they pick once you have approved it and sets up the call in Teams or Google Meet with the invitations, the dial-in and the reminders. If someone cancels, it starts again without being asked.

What it takes off the desk

  • The nine-email scheduling chain
  • Double bookings
  • Reminders nobody sent

Write-ups

Turns call notes into client-ready assessments. Scrappy notes from the call, read alongside the candidate’s CV, polished into an assessment in your firm’s format.

You take the call and jot down what you heard. Vateri reads your notes alongside the candidate’s CV and writes the assessment in your firm’s format: background, track record, motivation, your view. It writes the weekly progress report from what actually happened in the search, not from memory on a Friday afternoon. Every draft waits for you.

What it takes off the desk

  • Friday afternoons on reports
  • Writing up from memory
  • Reports that read like everyone else’s

Background

Eleven years in global macro, the last five running a book at Verex Global. Rates and FX, with a disciplined risk framework she describes in her own words as “small, often and early”.

Track record

Positive in each of the last five years. Drawdowns held inside the pod’s limits throughout the 2024 repricing.

Motivation

The Verex restructure has changed her payout terms. She wants capital allocated on a stated basis and terms agreed up front.

Meridian’s view

The strongest macro book on our map this year and newly movable. Written from Jack’s call notes; the view is his.

Vateri · Write-ups
Written from your 32-minute call on Tuesday, in the Meridian format. The Aldgate progress report is also ready: three interviews this week, one offer expected.

The record

Keeps the CRM from going stale. Nobody has time to type into the CRM.

The CRM goes stale because nobody has time to type into it. Vateri reads your sent mail and your diary and logs each conversation against the right person and the right mandate, with what was said and what happens next. When a record has no next step, it asks the owner for one. Nobody types it in, so the record keeps itself.

What it takes off the desk

  • Typing notes into the CRM
  • Records that go stale
  • The person you met in 2023 that nobody can find

Vateri · The record
Everything from your sent mail and your diary, on the right person and the right mandate. Two records had no next step, so their owners have been asked for one.

Client portal

Faces the client. A portal in your brand where the client watches the search, reads the shortlist and asks for interviews.

The client gets a portal carrying your firm’s name, not ours. They see the stage of each search and the shortlist with your assessment. They request interviews with one click. Vateri keeps it current from the pipeline and nudges the client when feedback is overdue, so you stop writing update emails.

What it takes off the desk

  • The Friday update call
  • Chasing interview feedback
  • Clients asking where things are
